
Our new executive, automotive engineer Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, assumed his position as Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors on July 1, 2024. With his experience in engineering and a remarkable career at Porsche, Dr. Walliser brings extensive expertise to elevate Bentley to new heights in the luxury automotive market.
Originally from Stuttgart, Dr. Walliser developed a strong passion for technology at an early age. He studied mechanical engineering with a focus on internal combustion engines and technology management, laying a solid academic foundation. His professional journey began in 1995 at Porsche, where he demonstrated his talent and dedication for nearly three decades.
Dr. Walliser’s time at Porsche was marked by significant achievements: In 2010, he took on overall project management for the Porsche 918 Spyder supercar—a vehicle that epitomizes innovation and peak performance. His work also encompassed motorsport and street-legal GT vehicles. In this role, starting in 2014, he led Porsche to numerous victories, including in the GTE category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring 24 Hours race.
In 2019, Dr. Walliser assumed leadership of Porsche’s 911 and 718 product lines, solidifying his outstanding reputation for developing high-performance vehicles. Starting in 2022, he headed the entire vehicle development department, focusing on vehicle architecture and driving dynamics, once again showcasing his deep understanding of automotive engineering.
Dr. Walliser’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence aligns perfectly with Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategy. This initiative aims to position the brand as a leader in sustainable luxury mobility.
