Dr. Filip Thon ist seit 1. April 2021 Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH. Nach seinem Studium und Abschluss als Diplom-Ingenieur in Prag begann Filip Thon 1995 seine berufliche Karriere als Analyst und Direktor bei Andersen Consulting (heute Accenture). Währenddessen promovierte er an der Technischen Universität in Ostrava und erhielt im Jahr 2000 den Doktortitel. 2004 wechselte Filip Thon zur RWE Energy Czech Republic in Prag. Dort war er als Direktor zuständig für unternehmensweite Dienstleistungen und Organisationsentwicklung. Ein Jahr später wurde er Vorstandsmitglied und anschließend Stellvertretender Vorstandsvorsitzender für Commodity Portfolio Management & Organisation/ IT bei RWE Transgas in Prag. Seit 2008 ist der gebürtige Tscheche Vorstandsvorsitzender und Geschäftsführer der RWE/ innogy Polska Group in Warschau. Von 2011 bis 2016 führte er das Operative Geschäft bei RWE East in Prag und verantwortete die Themen Energienetze, Vertrieb, Commodity Portfolio Management und Kundenservice. Ab 2014 war er zudem für zwei Jahre Mitglied des Global RWE Retail Boards. Seit 2016 war Filip Thon als Mitglied des Executive Committee der innogy Retail zuständig für das globale B2C-Geschäft und den Kundenservice. 2019 wurde er zum Senior Vice-President für die Region Zentral- und Osteuropa bei E.ON SE ernannt.

Dr. Filip Thon has been CEO of E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH since April 1, 2021. After graduating with a degree in engineering in Prague, Filip Thon began his professional career in 1995 as an analyst and director at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). At the same time, he completed his doctorate at the Technical University in Ostrava and received his PhD in 2000. In 2004, Filip Thon joined RWE Energy Czech Republic in Prague where he was in charge for shared services and organizational development. A year later, he became a member of the Management Board and subsequently was appointed as Vice President of the Board of Management, being responsible for commodity portfolio management and organization/ IT at RWE Transgas in Prague. In 2008, the Czech native started as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of RWE/ innogy Polska Group in Warsaw. From 2011 to 2016, he led the operational business at RWE East in Prague and was responsible for grid, retail, commodity management and customer service. Between 2014 and 2016 he also served as a member of the global RWE Retail Board. In 2016, Filip Thon became a member of the Executive Committee of innogy Retail, being responsible for global B2C Retail and Customer Service. Prior to his position as the Chairman of the Board of Management at E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH, he was appointed as Senior Vice President for the region of central and Eastern Europe at E.ON SE in 2019.
