Uwe Dieter Grebe joined the Executive Board at AVL in 2012. In his role as Executive Vice President, he is responsible for global business development, sales, and international operations for light duty vehicles and racing. He started his career at General Motors, Adam Opel AG in 1991, where he held numerous engineering positions with growing responsibilities. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Engineer for gasoline engines, and one year later in the FIAT-GM Powertrain joint venture Functional Leader Spark Ignition Engines. Grebe became Executive Director with the responsibility for all worldwide Powertrain Advanced Engineering and Racing activities at General Motors Powertrain USA in 2004 and Executive Director for Research and Advanced Engineering for Vehicle, Powertrain and Manufacturingm systems of GM Europe in 2011. In addition to his role at AVL, he is an honorary professor at the Vienna University of Technology, a member of the scientific board of the magazines "Motortechnische Zeitschrift” and "Automobiltechnische Zeitschrift”, a member of the Shell Science Council, Shell Global Solutions International BV, and a member of the SINTO Advisory Committee, Sintokogio Ltd.
